The Cost of Pets

We are learning financial literacy. That means we learn about money and how it works. We are learning this through paying for pets.

Today Frank brought Kahlo in to show us what owning a puppy costs. We then played maths games or learned about adding up the bills.

Boh and Ellen think that Frank paid with an eftpos card. We had a question.

WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU HAVE TO PAY 3 CENTS? We only have ten cent pieces. Boh and Ellen say that you have to round.

Nobody knows what rounding is except for Archey, Marco, Max Mo, Boh, Charlie, Ellen, Shyarmal, Jack B.

Shyarmal says in money you need rounding you need it when you’re using coins or notes. At Countdown they say $4.99 but there aren’t 9 cents, so $4.99 is $5. Boh says if it is 5 and above you round up to ten and if it’s below 5 you round down.

Mira and Mila and Scarlett say it cost $437 to look after Frank’s dog Kahlo.

Matilda, Molly and Aria were trying to work out how the words matched on the Activeboard.

Quality Content

Hi everyone,

This is a reminder to post quality content on the blog. Some of you have been having a lot of fun but it is not so fun for your audience. We have letters that make no sense and we have posts that don’t give us information or entertainment. Please use quality content.

  • Write about your news
  • Share information about your learning
  • Ask a question you would like answered
  • Edit your work- check the spelling and punctuation

Remember, we all need to understand what you are writing. We are writing on the blog for an audience! I will delete posts that are not quality content. Quality content will answer the WWWWWH questions, at the very least.
